Copartner Cable & Wire MFG. is Taiwan's leading manufacturer of computer cables and assemblies, manufacturing both standard and customized cables for its clients.

The Challenge

Calculating the current costs associated with computer cabling and assemblies was an excruciating task for Copartner, including complex mathemetical equations and multiple language translations between English and Mandarin. In addition, Copartner's Taiwanese-based site was not fast enough, from a customer prospective, to serve the US market.

The Solution

METREX developed a new professional look for Copartner, hosted on Metrex' own servers and fast internet connection, providing exceptional service to the North American market. Additionally, METREX developed a software solution to ease the burden of cost calculations on both standard, popular cables, as well as custom-built cables designed especially for individual clients. In the end, a process which took an average of three working days and passed through a number of stages and hands, can be done in minutes, and accessed easily from anywhere in the world.

The Results

Offering a very specialized service to very large companies, Copartner Cables served as a demonstration site to test out response from the US market when it was rolled out in June 2001. After nearly a year of slow-but-sure growth, Copartner Cables Taiwan decided to use the new site as their own marketing piece worldwide, so when visitors go to http://www.copartner.com.tw, they are re-directed to the http://www.coparntercables.com site.

Since the head manufacturing facility for Copartner Cables turned its entire web reliance to the Copartner Cables USA website in May 2002, site traffic has grown by over 240% and has received business inquiries from over 40 countries worldwide.
